This is the first time I have made very small log cabin blocks. Love them! The blocks were pieced on paper and are 4-inch squares. The logs are slightly less than ½-inch wide with four logs on each side of the red center. The hand quilting was done very simply so I could avoid quilting through the seam allowances. The fabrics were chosen based only on their value with no regard for color or style. The majority of the logs are made from tiny scraps provided by my quilting friends in Bastrop, plus crumbs from my stash. I just can't throw any fabric away!
