Comments

When I signed up for this Block of the Month at B and B Quilt Store four years ago, I was expecting to receive one block each month to complete. To my surprise, some months had 2, 3, 4, or 8 blocks to complete with block sizes from 12, 15, 18, to 36 inches. The 36- inch Exploding Star Center block with 221 pattern pieces was the only month with one block to complete. After setting it aside for some time, I am delighted to have it completed. I also changed the placement of the borders. The pattern's directions had the sawtooth border on the outside of the quilt and I moved it to the inside along with the smaller border leaving the larger border on the outside. Each month's pattern also contained excellent historical information on the Civil War.

Techniques
