This is the quilt I almost didn't make and gave away. I bought this block-of-the-month kit at a garage sale. Ms. Jean Folkes (deceased) was very organized and I made great buys at the garage sale. It was miraculous that I ended up with all twelve months of instructions, fabric, embroidery floss, and patterns. I knew I would never complete the embroidery on my own and was the reason I nearly gave the kit away. However, I was so excited about the treasures I found at the garage sale that I was showing them off to my brother and his wife, Julie, when they came to visit. Julie said her mom (Judy) did needle point and would ask if she was willing to embroider the blocks. About three months later, I had all the finished embroidered blocks in my hands. I now had all the motivation I needed to complete the pieced blocks and assemble the top with borders. Once the top was finished Martha of Del Sol Quilts did a wonderful job of quilting. Lastly, I knew I just had to share the quilt by entering it in the AAQG quilt show.
