Each morning outside my upstairs window, I watched a mother bird diligently build and nurture her nest and brood. One morning after a very violent storm, I looked out my window and the nest was gone. It seems no matter how hard we try to protect the things we love, sometimes we face losing the irreplaceable. (Bird image inspired by Russ Hansen's beautiful photographs of Birds in Flight)
