The British scientist J.B.S. Haldane was once asked what could be inferred about the Creator from Haldane's study of his works. He is reported to have answered "An inordinate fondness for beetles." At a conservative estimate, there are approximately 350,000 species of beetles. A few years ago my husband gave me a book titled "An Inordinate Fondness for Beetles" which is a wonderful book with photos of beautiful beetles. After reading the book and looking at the photos, I decided to make a quilt of beetles that I would have designed, and this is the result.
