Comments

The original quilt top was found in Albany, New York. The quilt top was made during the Civil War time-frame. It is thought to be an unfinished marriage quilt top due to the many symbols of Union and Fertility. The Elephant Block really caught my attention when I saw the pattern and it inspired me to make this quilt. My goal was to have this quilt completed to celebrate our 36th Wedding Anniversary in 2012. This quilt received Best of Show for the 2012 New Braunfels Quilt Show.

Techniques
