Hexagons and bright colors make me happy! I'm very happy to have this quilt finally done! This design was developed before I had Electric Quilt software so I designed it on homemade hexagon graph paper. I pieced the top by hand with a modified version of the English paper piecing technique using hand-cut plastic templates instead of paper. There are more than 5,300 ¾-inch hexagons in the top. To preserve the hexagon shapes along the edge, the outside edge is faced with hexagons that match the color of the hexagons on top. The facing was applied by hand. Take a look at the back. Leslie Sparks did the quilting, saving my fingers from having to quilt through all of those seam allowances. Thanks, Leslie!
