This quilt was featured in three issues of Quilt Mania, 2009. The original quilt was made about 1890. It appealed to me because it looked very challenging and it would be a long hand-piecing project. Was it ever! Not only that, but a very long hand-quilting project. The pattern has an error in the number of 7/8-inch blocks needed in one of the borders. I changed the small appliqued blue stars between the baskets to Texas stars instead of 8-pointed stars.
