Colonel Manley was the father of my best friend, Sally. He was stationed in Occupied Japan after World War II and returned with a deep love for Japanese culture and art. This man was larger than life and unlike anyone I had ever known. With his awesome intellect, gentle spirit, and loving arms, he was the father I didn't have. He lives in my heart and my dreams, and I still miss him terribly.
