This 63-1/2 inch traditional Lone Star wall quilt consists of a 51-1/2 inch star in a medallion setting. Made of all cotton fabrics with radiating rows of 2-inch diamonds. Machine pieced and quilted using straight lines from the center extending outward through the borders with 30-weight, variegated cotton thread. Machine trapunto is used to emphasize the official Texas state symbol (consisting of a live oak branch and olive branch with the lone star) and outline maps of Texas indicating the State Capitol. This is my fifth quilt, completed in September 2003.
